Hi! I'm Lulu.

I am a third year Computer Science major at the University of California, Berkeley. I'm passionate about impactful technology as well as volunteering and engineering for social good! I aim to create thoughtful, well researched solutions to fulfill client needs. I am currently interested in backend development.

Most recently, I was a software development engineer intern at Amazon on the Amazon Device Management team, and prior, I was a software development intern at Generate Good. Outside of industry, I developed personalized coding curriculums for the students I taught at theCoderSchool, Berkeley.

Experience

  • Amazon

I joined the Amazon Device Management team, which delivers secure and durable services to simplify how devices at Fulfillment Centers are managed and interacted with. I designed and implemented a command executor for Android devices used in Fulfillment Centers. My project provided device users and owners over-the-air command functionality on mobile devices and will support concurrent execution on ~590,000 managed devices.

  • Generate Good

At Generate Good, I developed the platform’s database to support core functionalities including post dashboard and user creation. Over the semester, I implemented the front end of generategood.co’s user interface using HTML/CSS with Bootstrap. Additionally, I built a data analytics feature to generate impact reports for non-profit organizers and coordinators.

  • theCoderSchool

I taught students the fundamentals of programming, problem solving, and algorithm design using a project based approach at theCoderSchool. I developed personalized curriculums tailored to individual learning goals and skill levels and guided students through building their own applications. I also ran week-long virtual coding boot camps where students created and presented a personalized project by the end of camp.

Projects

Currently a work in progress, stay tuned for more projects!

  • Retro Arcade Machine

In April 2020, my friends and I built a 3x4.5 ft wooden retro arcade machine inspired by the vintage arcades of the 60's. We wanted to recreate the nostalgia associated with the still popular pixel art design that lies at the heart of many past and present games. The machine features the traditional single and multiplayer games Snake, Pong, Pac-Man, and a custom street fighter inspired game.

Click here to see our arcade machine and recorded demos of the games, and here for our GitHub repo. Enjoy!
